How To Make Your Living Space Look Bigger
Cramped, cluttered, and chaos - a few words that describes oh so many of our living spaces. Trust me, I've been there.
No matter what we do, we just can't seem to get those tight spaces to feel like home. It's a daunting task to say the least.
Today, we change our perspective. It's time to turn that cramped space to something worth looking forward to. Follow these tips, and you'll fall in love with that space once again.
An obvious feat, but nonetheless an effective move. Many times, our cramped spaces have a dark nature to them. It may lack natural light and may be painted a dark color. This naturally makes things seem smaller. Luckily, painting is usually the quickest, most affordable and effective solve to those tight spaces. Head to your local home store and snag a paint that is light, bright and happy. White and light gray are usually the best choice!
Add a mirror:
Once that paint is dry, consider adding a mirror to the space. Mirrors reflect light and make it seem as if the space is quite a bit bigger. Mirrors tend to be quite affordable as well, so what are you waiting for?
Ahh.. the dreaded word we were all waiting for. Decluttering is never a fun task. However, this in itself could drastically change the look and feel of your space. If the space always has clothes, coats, shoes, and other miscellaneous items sitting out, it is bound to look cramped. Our solve for this is quite simple; be intentional about where you place your "things". Create dedicated areas and storage for each particular item that tends to clutter your space and make it known to the whole family. There are many options for storage bins and multi-purpose furniture that are great spaces to tuck away the clutter.
